Jayson Tatum turned back the clock and revealed the team’s past mistake. The Boston Celtics moved from the frustrating 2023 East Conference Finals loss against Jimmy Butler & Co. and put up a strong show this season. However, JT didn’t seem to have moved on from the loss and admitted the team’s grave mistake that cost them the series.

During tonight’s post-game press conference, a reporter asked Tatum about the 2023 Conference Finals loss. The Celts forward said, “I think last year we were so antsy to get back to the Finals… we may have took some things for granted.” Apart from that, he also revealed what changes the team had brought into the fold to have a better chance at the championship this year. He added, “This year, we have done a really good job. Not skipping steps and respecting every game every day, just trying to get better.”

Over the last two seasons, the Celtics have had a miserable playoff end to their dominant regular-season performance. During the 2021-22 season, the Celtics reached the Finals confidently but fell short against the Dubs. In the last season, the underdogs Miami Heat restricted them in the Conference Finals.

Jayson Tatum has spoken about the time he has taken to overcome these losses in the media before. JT revealed that he had lost sleep and said, “Those three, four days after (the NBA Finals), I was miserable.” Nevertheless, the star forward has yet another opportunity to fulfill his dream.

The Celts stormed their way throughout this regular season and became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Currently, the team has a 59-16 record. The team still has seven more games left in the regular season. If they make the most out of it, JT & Co. can enter the postseason with great momentum.

Will Jayson Tatum & Co. win the ring this year?

Jayson Tatum himself revealed the team’s mistake from last season and highlighted the work ethic and discipline for this season. Apart from that, the Celtics have a lot of positive additions that can enable them to win their ring.

Second, HC Joe Mazzula has done a great job with the side this season. He has already been noted for his out-of-the-box thinking and uncanny decisions taken during the clutch. And finally, the Celts have already gone deep into the post-season in the two seasons, so JT & Co. can use that experience for a better result.
