The most-hyped rookie of this season’s draft, Victor Wembanyama, is living up to all the set expectations. In the first two pre-season games, Wemby showed incredible performances back to back. The 7’5″ rookie sensation for the San Antonio Spurs is going viral for his dunks.

He is playing efficiently at all levels. Be it a three-pointer range and penetrating the defense, he showed it all. While his offense highlights are the talk of the town, his ability to collapse the defense entirely makes him even more dynamic. And an Ex-NBA player turned podcaster and analyst noticed exactly that.

The Frenchmen’s unique combination of size, skills, and fluidity has earned him comparisons to some of the greatest players in NBA history. Given his big frame, no one dares to attempt a ball throw, which gives him an edge to dominate. While discussing gameplay against the second game against Miami, JJ highlights a particular block by Wemby on Hayward Highsmith.

That was his 4th block of the night. He took on the roller on an empty side pick and roll, then recovered to block a shot on the strong side, switching position immediately. A high display of strong game IQ, that in flashes, reminded Micheal Jordan’s greatness.

Wemby recorded 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 blocks in just 23 minutes. An easy win over the Heat by 120-104 points.

Wemby’s offense is even more deadly

He dominated the pre-season games offensively by covering the entire range of the court. In his debut game, he scored 20 points. With an 8-foot wingspan, he can easily execute in and out, which makes him unguardable.

Reddick acknowledged his offensive highlights. Calling for a lob at the three-pointer line, between the legs, stepping back, pulling up the gather one, two from the three-point, “That’s awesome”, he says.
