It’s incredible how LeBron James is redefining an athlete’s longevity in a sport, especially one as intense and physically demanding as basketball. At 39, he is now the oldest active player in the NBA and he is just as dominating as ever. Bron is scoring at the rim with an efficiency that is unheard of for someone his age. If anything, his mastery is at an all-time high, and …you’ve guessed it, LeBron’s skills have aged like fine wine.

In his 21st season in the league, King James’ longevity is something that we cannot wrap our minds around. This is the same sentiment shared by former NBA Champion Jordan Bell who has an interesting take on The Chosen One’s unbelievable dominance at his age.

The former Warriors star very seriously says about LeBron, “He’s not like us, we don’t have the same clock.” Bell also brings up Bron’s 2018 run with the Cavaliers and how he singlehandedly took the team to the Finals. Adding to this, Bell says, “He a vampire, he lived a couple thousand years.” Jordan Bell was part of the team that chucked off LeBron and the Cavs in the 2018 NBA Finals, taking home a Championship for the Warriors. In the Finals, the Warriors destroyed the Cavs, four games to zero.

Game 1 of the series was a monumental moment for LeBron who scored his playoff career-high score of 51 points. Unfortunately, the Cavs lost the game 114-124 in OT. Referring to this, Bell says that if the Cavs had won Game 1, “that’s a whole different series.” Losing the game after scoring a career-high point “killed” LeBron inside, Bell says and ruined the team’s mentality. Another incident might have played a huge role in the Cavs losing the next three games of the series.

In a recipe-for-disaster situation, after losing Game 1, LeBron, in a fit of frustration and rage, punched a hole in the team locker. This resulted in a right-hand injury that would affect his performance for the rest of the games in the series. In a report that came about after losing the series, Bron had said, “I let the emotions get the best of me and pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand.” Interestingly enough, when the games were still on, Bron had to hide the injury in front of the media to avoid giving the Warriors a competitive edge over them.

Nonetheless, Bron left the team soon after and landed in LA, where he won his fourth Championship in 2020.
