Usually, if Stephen Curry isn’t chasing a ring around this time of the year, he’s on the golf course. Curry has often professed his love for the sport and is famously quite good at it. Last year, he won the Celebrity Golf Tournament with his entire family by his side. More recently, however, Curry may have found another person whose love for golf rivals him, but he is not a hooper.

The person is controversial “truth-teller” and comedian Katt Williams, whose super viral ‘Club Shay Shay’ appearance has again thrust him into the spotlight. On his Instagram story, Curry re-posted a tidbit of Williams talking about Golf. “Golf is a thing where 18 times they set you up with a challenge and they put obstacles and hazards in the way, and you have to navigate your way safely”, says the Emmy Winner on the official channel of the PGA tour.

Maybe this year we will see the infamous comedian facing off with Curry in the Celebrity Golf Tournament. Williams’s declaration of love for golf comes at an opportune moment for him as his comedy special Woke Foke will premier live on Netflix. Katt has been on and off the spotlight for several years in the industry, due to reasons ranging from controversies to extended hiatuses.

However, his sensational podcast with NFL legend Shannon Sharpe shifted public opinion in favor. The episode amassed a record-breaking 68 million views on YouTube. The reason the episode resonated with the audience is how Williams claimed that Hollywood celebrities are fake and what happens behind closed doors. With his hand on the pulse of the zeitgeist, William’s special is bound to break records. As for Curry, we might see him win another medal this offseason but not for golf.

Stephen Curry making an Olympic debut this year

At 36, Curry is making his debut for the Team USA at the Paris Olympics 2024, from July 26 to August 11. With him, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Haliburton are also going to be participating. They’re going to be coached by Curry’s HC – Steve Kerr, assisted by Erik Spoelstra, Tyronn Lue, and Mark Few.

Unlike his teammates James and Durant, who have multiple gold medals, Chef Curry has none. It’s the only respected win in the basketball world that the greatest shooter is yet to achieve. However, this year it might change.

Other teams who are contending for the Gold Medal this year include Germany, Serbia with Nikola Jokić (high possibility), and Canada with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (high possibility). Earlier in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, France beat the United States in group play, then later lost to them in the closest final showdown, 87-82.

Team USA are heavy favorites to win gold in the Olympics, especially after the fact they were embarrassed in the FIBA World Cup. The Redeem team has a mission to make sure they are “World Champions”. To prove once and for all that American basketball has an edge over the world.
