During All-Star Weekend, screenshots spread from the alleged account @gethigher77, many believe belongs to Kevin Durant. The posts were raw, sharp, and at times ruthless toward both former and current teammates. However, no verified proof ties the account to him, and Durant has not claimed it. Even so, the alleged remarks ignited the basketball world.

On Thursday, right after training, Durant met with the media. He addressed the pressing matter and broke the silence. The Houston Rockets star said, “I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense. My teammates know what it is; we’ve been locked in the whole season.”

The alleged jab at Jabari Smith Jr. stands out as the most vicious. The post reportedly labeled him “lowkey ret—ed,” a remark that cuts deep. If real, it hints at serious frustration with his growth and decision-making. Smith remains early in his career, still learning. However, for a veteran like Durant who chases wins, patience wears thin. Even so, tearing down a teammate in public would fracture any locker room and leave scars that linger.
The purported outburst concerning Alperun Sengun appears to be connected to its surrounding circumstances. The post seemed to shift responsibility following Durant’s recent game with many turnovers and criticism of Sengun’s defense. It was argued that a franchise player’s inability to shoot or defend was more significant than the number of turnovers. After that, it went on to label the Rockets teammates as “crayon eaters.”
And while Kevin Durant tries to prove his innocence, voices in the NBA believe that the leaked conversations come from the 2-time NBA champ himself. Most interesting of all is Durant’s latest silence over a fan’s tease at the All-Star game.
Is @gethigher77 truly Kevin Durant?
Now, Kevin Durant and the fans’ interaction isn’t anything we’ve never seen before. However, his silent walk-away after someone in the crowd said, “Ay KD, you need to brush yo sh** and get some lotion” spoke volumes.
Usually, Durant doesn’t entertain hecklers. He goes back at them and makes sure the disrespectful are well-served. However, his rare move at the All-Star games could hint at a far bigger concern. That is the exposed burner account.
Meanwhile, insider Zach Lowe said, “It’s an account, and it’s allegedly him. There are a lot of signs that it’s him. Just s— talking a bunch of people that he’s either played with or played against.”
At the same time, Kevin Durant has publicly rejected any connection to the account, and no verified evidence links him to it. Nevertheless, the story continues to drive intense online debate surrounding his name. Now he has come up to break the silence, claiming his loyalty towards the Houston Rockets.
