Kevin Durant led the Phoenix Suns to a dominant win over the short-handed Milwaukee Bucks. It was all left to Giannis Antetokounmpo to shoulder his team at the Footprint Center. While he did carry his team closer to the finish line, he wasn’t able to convert it into a win because the Suns had a ‘Giannis Stopper’ in their line-up, and it was none other than the Slim Reaper.

The duo had multiple one-on-one battles throughout the game and Durant came out on top in most occasions, restricting the Greek Freak. Following the game, the Suns HC Frank Vogel credited the big man for his efforts. He added, “He continues to impress our group with the willingness to guard the other team’s best player.”

Kevin Durant dropped 28 points with 10 rebounds with two blocks and a steal to support the Suns’ cause. He was supported by Bradley Beal and Devin Booker with 25 and 32 points respectively for a comfortable 114-106 victory at home. The game was evenly poised until the first half, where the scores were tied at 50 points.

In the 3rd quarter, the Suns stepped on gas both defensively and offensively. The Suns’ third quarter powered by D-Book ended with a 6-point lead. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up a great fight to chase the lead. Unfortunately, he didn’t have enough support to contain the home team.

Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez sat out with injuries. Giannis dropped 34 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists along with a lonely helping hand from Malik Beasley, who scored 22 points.

Notably, the game could have gone in Bucks’ favor if not for Kevin Durant. Greek Freak was raring to go and take on the lead. He almost ran past the Suns’ lead with his slam dunks. But, it was KD who raised the wall to restrict.

The Slim Reaper show at the Valley

Tonight isn’t the first time when KD left the Suns fans and teammates in awe. He has been the superstar throughout the season. From taking a crucial game-winning jumper against the Chicago Bulls to coming back from a 22-point deficit against the Sacramento Kings, Durant has produced some glorious moments this season.

Even his teammates couldn’t contain their awe, witnessing his prowess. Describing his game-winning jumper against the Bulls, Booker said, “It’s like a video game. Just feels like I’m part of, when I was a kid and you create a player, and you’re out on the court playing against the legends of the game.”
