Kevin Durant, the newest partner of KSI and Logan Paul‘s Prime Hydrate, didn’t have a really good start with the brand. Now, as great of a collaboration as this was, Prime was recently sued by the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee over trademarked symbols and phrases. Now, the colorways already throw off a Team USA vibe on the special edition drink. This edition features Kevin Durant’s achievement that read “3X Olympic Gold Medalist And Counting…”.
The Committee already sent a cease-and-desist letter a week ago. However, Prime Hydrate did not remove the social media posts regarding the same. Not only that, but the packaging wasn’t any different later on. Now, this is a big deal for the two YouTubers to deal with the two-time NBA champion. KD has just signed with the hydration company and even appeared on Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, alongside famous streamer, IShowSpeed.

Also, the Olympics are less than a week away. KD will be busy with Team USA as they face Serbia on the 28th. Whereas for Prime, it isn’t their first time facing such allegations. The hydration drink also faced allegations that called the company for its high caffeine content. This comes after the majority of Logan Paul and KSI’s audience are teenagers and young adults, which is why the contents of the drink were highly speculated.

But as of now, the brand is facing a new problem, which seems to be much bigger. This could also rupture their relationship with their newest partner. But it will be interesting to see Logan Paul and KSI get past this hurdle as the Olympics approach. They are already partners with the Lakers and MLB’s LA Dodgers, as they look to expand further in the US. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and other football clubs are also partners with the hydration drink. But the real question arises, how bad can this affect the famous brand?
Will Kevin Durant part ways with Prime?
The Phoenix Sun’s player is a smart businessman and there will be a concern as his name is involved. One of the phrases that said, “step up your hydration game with the Kevin Durant Olympic Prime Drink!” on an online post was also called out by the committee. However, Prime deleted his post after the recent lawsuit. Kevin Durant, on the other hand, might not take this lightly. Of course, the Slim Reaper will be busy with Team USA in Paris, but there are chances that he may speak on the current scenario.

There have been multiple football players who have partnered with Prime and it doesn’t seem like a bad deal from an athlete’s perspective. Patrick Mahomes, Erling Haaland, Cody Rhodes from WWE, and other famous athletes have been close to Prime for a while. This lawsuit puts the credibility of the brand on the line, which may concern its partners, be it the athletes or the various sports clubs.
Logan Paul is yet to respond to this lawsuit along with the board members of the brand. It would be tough for the YouTuber to get past this situation at this point in time. What are your thoughts on this? How do you think Durant will respond to this? Let us know in the comments.
