Jimmy Butler is someone who has seldom held back when looking to troll others. More than once, he has taken shots at his rival teams for their poor gameplay or trash talk. His not-so-recent comments about the Celtics even got him into trouble with Heat President Pat Riley, who stated, “If you’re not on the court playing against Boston, or on the court playing against the New York Knicks, you should keep your mouth shut.” Before all of this, however, there was one incident with a fan in which Jimmy may have taken things too far.

A few days ago, a social media post of a fan talking about a time when a celebrity was rude to him took the listeners back four years, when his “favorite basketball player” came to his school to play pickup. After catching a glimpse of the player in the school gym, he approached him for a photo.

The ‘player’ reportedly caught one glimpse of the youngster narrating this story and exclaimed, “This motherf****ng Macaulay Culkin looking a** wants to get a picture with me? I guess.” This narrator then revealed the final photo as proof, highlighting the mystery player to be Jimmy Butler himself. And yes, he did take the picture despite the taunt. Yikes!

Judging by the described timings and their outfits, the incident took place probably back in 2017, when Butler had newly joined the Timberwolves. It went on to show that no matter whether you are just a fan or a top-tier player, you’re never safe from getting verbally ‘attacked’. While the player may have remarked in a manner of jest, the individual took it seriously and revealed being ‘traumatized’.

Fortunately, not many incidents with fans ended up having the same result. Back in 2023, a 12-year-old fan by the name of Felipe described flying over 4,405 miles from Argentina to the US, just to get a glimpse of the Heat star. Unfortunately, the player was absent from the game because of an injury. Fortunately, the Miami Heat made up for it by gifting the young fan an autographed basketball and the latest Butler Nike Mashup Vol. 2 Authentic jersey.

To top it off, Jimmy Butler would later invite the family back when he was available on the court and fulfill the young star’s wish. Therefore, when it comes to him, it is a mixed bag on what response an individual could get when seeking the player’s time. However, speaking of passing a comment on that fan’s looks, the NBA star does not have fond memories to look back at.

Jimmy Butler was kicked out of home because of the way he looked

Jimmy Butler trolling another individual over his ‘looks’ would be pretty weird. After all, he himself was once criticized over his appearance by not just any stranger, but his mother. He did not, by any account, have a normal childhood. His father abandoned him at an early age and his mother, as a single parent, attempted to raise him. By the time he turned 13, the tension between them reached new heights.

During an interview in 2011, he recalled how his mother kicked him out of the house. Even years later, her parting words remained in the player’s mind, “I don’t like the look of you. You gotta go.”

In his early teens, with no extended family to fall back on and no money to support himself, the young individual moved from house to house, living with his friends. Jimmy eventually befriended a guy named Jordan Leslie, who would later join the NFL as a wide receiver. Jordan’s mother took the future NBA star in, despite having seven other children to support.

The support he received from that family helped him to become the individual he is today. It’s believed that despite all the disagreements in the Butler family, Jimmy still maintains a close relationship and hasn’t held a grudge against his mother.
