Tonight’s decisive final game of the In-Season Tournament-Group Play between the Golden State Warriors (8-9) and the Sacramento Kings (9-6) promises to be one of the most thrilling matches of the season. Not only will this game decide who advances to the quarterfinal knockout round, but it also marks the return of Draymond Green to the lineup after serving the five-game suspension. The Warriors had been shaky without their defensive anchor (2-3). However, their last play against the San Antonio Spurs offered some relief amidst the chaos. The Warriors have won their last two meetings against the Kings, which sets the stage for redemption, especially after last season’s playoff elimination.

Projected starting lineups for Kings vs. Warriors

This In-Season clash tonight is undoubtedly a high-stakes game for both teams. The Kings are currently playing the best ball of this season and will be hoping to get the monkey off their back when they see the Golden State tonight. The Warriors would look for a consecutive win, a feat they haven’t achieved since early November. With Green back in the lineup, Steve Kerr will most likely go with the usual lineup of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney. The Warriors will be entering the contest healthy, with no names mentioned on the injury report.

The Kings, on the other hand, have three players listed on the injury report. Keegan Murray is listed as doubtful due to a back issue. Alex Len is to miss several weeks due to an ankle sprain, and Keon Ellis is ruled out as he is tending to an ankle injury. Their starting lineup might look like – De’Aaron Fox, Chris Duarte, Kevin Huerter, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis. However, Harrison Barnes might fill in for Murray if he decides to miss today’s game.

The Warriors starting lineup might undergo some adjustments

Steve Kerr usually decides on the starting lineup for the season after 20 games. However, nothing seems to be working for the struggling Warriors this season as they inch closer to their 20th game. Part of the problem is sub-par performances from Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins, who are still stuck in extended slumps. Klay is averaging 15 points on a career-low 40/37/87 split, while Wiggins is posting 11.8 points per game. They are both tied for the worst defensive rating entering Wednesday’s matchup. These issues might lead Kerr to make adjustments to the starting lineup.

Especially with the emergence of players like Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and Dario Saric, there are fewer playing minutes left for Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Gary Payton II. Therefore, the longer this slump continues, the harder it will be for Kerr to justify the current starting lineup.
