But in a nail-biting encounter, the Warriors lost with 124-123 on the scoreboard. Steph Curry was hopeful about Draymond Green making a difference to the side. But despite Moses Moody scoring 11 of  12 points in the fourth quarter, the Warriors couldn’t steal the show.

Draymond Green’s fiery attitude in the game too got Stephen Curry‘s attention as later during the press conference he reflected on the loss. Curry, whose spectacular performance against the San Antonio Spurs had reignited the chances of the Warriors staying in the tournament, had a piece of advice for Green.

Stephen Curry’s words for Green after the loss

The Stephen Curry-Draymond Green pair couldn’t turn the Kings’ tide against their side. Moses Moody tried to create magic in the fourth quarter but was called off. Draymond Green returned after he was suspended for five games after an altercation with Rudy Gobert of the Timberwolves.

Green was given a technical foul by the referee for mimicking a carry violation in the fourth quarter. He narrated the words he told Draymond after receiving the technical, “I told him to refocus at that point, like let’s just hoop. That was a dumb tech, for sure. We all do that.”

Though Steph Curry called it dumb, he had some words of caution for the teammate. Curry called Draymond “passionate in his conversations” and “fiery” but asked him to know “where the limit is”. He further asked Draymond to maintain his individuality while not getting distracted. He said,“Be fiery. Be competitive. Be who you are. But we all have to be mindful of not getting distracted.”

Steph Curry had earlier opined that the return of Draymond Green would make a difference to the side, but would not fix everything. But Draymond’s attitude itself has been causing distress to the Warriors’ fans for some time.

Draymond Green and the loss of the Warriors

The loss against the Kings will invite a lot of introspection by the Warriors. A lot of unfortunate things happened on the side. With a 24-point lead, they lost the fourth quarter with 29-19. Similarly, Chris Paul and Gary Payton got injured. Additionally, after Draymond Green received the technical, the Warriors kept on sliding downwards.

The alteration of Draymond against the Minnesota Timberwolves saw his ouster from the five games that left the Warriors without their backbone. While his aptitude is a boon for the Warriors, his attitude often proves to be a bane for the side.
