Kyrie Irving’s son, Kaire, is safe. Following a scary courtside accident at the late end of the game, the Dallas Mavericks star dropped the much-needed update about his son’s courtside accident. During the post-game press conference, One of the reporters asked Irving to reveal the conversation that he had with Kidd when he walked into the room. Without any hesitation, Irving opened up about Kidd’s advice and, importantly, through the course of his statement, he revealed that he took a deep breath after confirming that his son was alright. Uncle Drew said, “We were mainly talking about my son Kaire sitting courtside. He (Kidd) reminded me of a story.”

Then Kyrie Irving went on to talk about the incident which Kidd shared with him from his playing days. It was about a nasty accident when the Nets legend Kidd fell over his own son, Trey Jason Kidd (TJ Kidd), who was sitting on the courtside. Unfortunately, Kidd ended up breaking his son’s collar bone.

Irving further stated that Kidd advised him not to make his family sit near the courtside. He added, “Just for the safety of our game, my wife, my kids. Maybe they shouldn’t sit courtside often.”

What happened to Kyrie Irving’s son, Kaire?

During the fourth quarter, Wizards’ player Corey Kispert chased a loose ball that bounced off the rim following a Mavs’ free throw. The ball hit the rim and bounced off directly to the courtside, and Kispert, in the attempt to collect it, unfortunately partly fell over Kaire.

Describing the moment, Irving said, “It’s been three years, having boys there every game and nobody’s come that close. It was scary for me. Took a deep breath afterwards… Of course my kid was okay.”

From now on, Kyrie wouldn’t often make his family sit near the courtside, taking Kidd’s advice. On the other hand, Uncle Drew himself was recovering from a thumb sprain. Despite that, he dropped 26 points with 11 rebounds to take his side past the finish line. The team will face the San Antonio Spurs on their next outing and hopefully, he recovers from the sprain.
