The Los Angeles Lakers are currently making a last-ditch effort to secure a spot in the playoff series. With the team currently placed as the 9th seed on the Western Conference points table, they will have to make the best use of every one of their remaining games. This will require players like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and others to step up on the offensive front. However, given that each of them is recovering from separate injuries, their availability remains uncertain.

With a few more hours before their faceoff against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Lakers recently released their Injury Report for the upcoming game. Highlighted on X by Lakers Nation host Trevor Lane, the list placed Anthony Davis (bilateral Achilles Tendinopathy) as “probable”, while LeBron James (left ankle peroneal tendinopathy) was listed as “questionable”. Players like Colin Castleton, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and Christian Wood have been declared “out” of the matchup. By omitting Cam Reddish’s name from the list, it highlighted that the small forward will return to the basketball court after a four-game hiatus.

Davis has been listed on the injury report for his Achilles for quite some time. However, he hasn’t missed a game since February 1st. Therefore, fans can expect the team’s second-highest average scorer to be available to take on the 76ers. The same could be said about LeBron as well. The 39-year-old was listed as ‘questionable’ during the previous two injury reports released before the clash against the Warriors and the Hawks as well. However, the player appeared in each of those games and successfully averaged 32.5 points. Therefore, the ‘questionable’ tag does not guarantee the player’s absence.

Given that Christian Wood recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, there is a chance that he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The gap left by him, however, will be easily filled by Reddish. Despite the long injury report, the Lakers probably won’t have much to worry about regarding their players’ availability. However, they will have to worry when going up against the same team to whom they lost 6 of their last 7 games.

How has LeBron James performed against the Philadelphia 76ers?

LeBron James has faced off against the 76ers 55 times during his 21 seasons. 7 of those clashes took place when he was playing for the Lakers. While the LA team’s win/loss record against them is nothing short of disappointing, LeBron has always managed to put his best foot forward during these games.

The four-time NBA champion has accumulated an average of 25.6 points, 8.4 assists, and 6.0 rebounds during his previous 7 games against Philadelphia. This is quite at par with his current season average. His shooting ability against them, however, has been mixed. While his average field goal and free throw percentage stand at 54.3% and 69%, respectively, his 3-pointer percentage stands quite poorly at 27.8%.

During his last game against the 76ers, LeBron delivered one of his worst performances by scoring only 18 points, 0 rebounds, and 5 assists. With the stakes being very high for the Lakers, fans will hope that the same will not be repeated in a few hours at the Crypto.com Arena.
