The Lakers (7-6) and the Rockets (6-4) are all geared up to play it out on the Crypto.com Arena tonight after the Lakers had an embarrassing 128-94 loss during their first matchup of the season at the Toyota Center. However, the Lakers are coming off a 107-95 win against the Trail Blazers on Friday so we can imagine that the spirits are still high.

As they host the Rockets tonight, there is still uncertainty about having LeBron James back on the roster again following a left calf injury during the game against the Suns. He did show up for Friday’s game against the Blazers and dropped 35 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists, but it is obvious that he still hasn’t fully recovered from the injury.

Expected lineup for the Lakers amidst a questionable LeBron

It is no secret that the Lakers are still dependent on Bron and Anthony Davis to lead the way, and given that tonight is a crucial game in recovering from their humiliating defeat against the Rockets the last time they met, we can expect LeBron to be on the starting lineup. So, the projected starting five for tonight will be Bron, Davis, D’Angelo Russell, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish.

In case LeBron is a no-show, Rui Hachimura will probably take his place. Anthony Davis is probable for tonight with a hip injury, but there are high chances of him showing up. Missing the game tonight will be Gabe Vincent (knee) and Jarred Vanderbilt (heel), while Jalen Hood-Schifino (knee) is questionable.

Stopping the Rockets minus Bron will be tough

LeBron still remains the best player in the Lakers and his presence tonight could be a make-or-break situation for the team. If he doesn’t show, Dillon Brooks and co. will take full advantage of the opportunity. On the other side of the court, the Rockets could start with Brooks, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Fred VanVleet, and Alperen Sengun.

When we talk about the Lakers, we cannot undermine Anthony Davis’ contributions on the court. The last time the two teams met, Sengun gave a very difficult time to the Lakers in trying to contain him, especially without Davis.
