Remember last month when Anthony Edwards expressed his frustration to the Golden 1 Center crowd by flipping them off during the game? The incident that earned him a $35k fine? Well, Giannis Antetokounmpo probably doesn’t, which led him to do something similar.
The Greek Freak was on the sideline with Damian Lillard in the Bucks’ last game against the Wizards. During the second quarter, Antetokounmpo was caught on camera showing his finger, but he quickly covered it with his other hand, making sure not to reveal which finger he was pointing. He should count himself lucky that the gesture didn’t catch the attention of Adam Silver and the league officials. However, the clip is surfacing on X, which could land him in trouble.

The NBA commissioner is known for being intolerant of such actions. Just like in May this year, Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell was fined $25,000 for verbally abusing a game official during their loss to the Denver Nuggets (108-106) at Ball Arena. And with how quickly things spread in this internet era, it might not be long before the 30-year-old finds himself with a hole in his pocket, too. And this time, there could be more repercussions. But what made him react in that way? The fans gather in the comment section to share their views.

Fans stunned by leaked footage of Giannis Antetokounmpo
“Is that to Khris or Bobby??” someone asked. Giannis surely had his reasons for his antics, but it remains unclear why he did it and to whom the finger was directed. Maybe in the next interview, the media can ask this question to get the details straight from the man himself.“My boy gotta be fined,” one fan commented on the post. “Oh! He’s a family man and has kids to take care of. Adam Silver, have mercy. 🙏 🤲”There have been multiple instances where players and coaches have found themselves on the fines list, having to pay hefty amounts for their “inappropriate” actions, at least according to the league. One such instance, is the Boston Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla getting fined $35,ooo for “aggressively pursuing and directing inappropriate language toward a game official” during the Celtics’ loss to the Chicago Bulls (117-108) on December 19.

Meanwhile, a fan hilariously wrote,
“Jaylen Brown having a Field Day smh,” pointing out that Giannis’ action would give Brown even more reasons to make fun of him. The two again ran the risk of clashing in the last encounter of the Bucks vs. Celtics. While things didn’t turn ugly, one can expect things to heat up next time the duo go face-to-face.Do you think this clip could get Giannis Antetokounmpo into trouble, or will it slip past Adam Silver’s notice?
