The Lakers’ start to last season was abysmal, but they ended the season promisingly. They lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. The team aims to start the season strong. They’ve added talented players in free agency and are now a strong competitor for the title. But the Lakers aren’t done just yet, they have registered an interest in LeBron’s former teammate, Kyrie Irving. It looks like there’s still some work to be done in order to bring Kyrie to the ‘City of Angels’.

The main sticking point in the situation is that the Dallas Mavericks aren’t willing to accept a trade offer from the Lakers. It is being reported that the Lakers are willing to trade D’Angelo Russell for Kyrie Irving. This trade would make no sense for the Mavericks, as Kyrie is a far more superior player than Russell. And they are also trying to win a title with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving as core components of the roster. The trade deadline is still months away (8th February) and this is a trade to keep a close eye on.
