LeBron James’ Record Breaking Night Had Austin Reaves Rubbing His Eyes in Disbelief: “They Must Have a Typo”

The Los Angeles Lakers completely bulldozed the New Orleans Pelicans in the last game of the regular season. Despite a valiant effort by Zion Willamson and company, LeBron James was simply unstoppable. His impact on the hardwood stretched on both ends of the floor, with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 17 assists, and 5 steals besides a block. This stat line was so hard to believe that even his teammate, Austin Reaves, didn’t notice it until the very end.
In the latest post on X, Jovan Buha posted Reaves’s reaction. “Austin Reaves looked up at the in-arena box score and did a double take. “What the hell is going on?” Reaves thought. “They might have a typo up there.” Except there wasn’t an error — LeBron James really had that many assists. On LeBron’s two-way dominance against NOP on Tuesday,” stated the caption.

The Lakers resounding 124-108 victory has more than one positive implication. Los Angeles will be facing the Pelicans again in the play-in tournament and if King James plays the exact same way, it will be very difficult to stop him.
Especially considering his playoff stats, which are off the charts. James has averaged 28.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists in 282 games in the playoffs in his career. This he only aims to take this near triple-double playoff stat line forward. However, there might just be one huge roadblock between King James and the Western Conference Finals.

LeBron James has only one threat to his 5th ring
LeBron’s ultimate challenge looms in the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic. Last year’s sweep in the Western Conference finals by the Nuggets still echoes, and this year, the duo of Jokic and Jamal Murray stands as formidable obstacles to LeBron’s quest for a 5th ring. The Joker is coming up on his third MVP this year, so if the Lakers manage to win, they have to face the Nuggets in the first round.
This can be extremely challenging considering what happened last year. Still, there is a chance the Lakers can overcome the Nuggets, its if all their engines fire on all cylinders. Only LBJ alone cannot win it for them, key pieces like Anthony Davis, Reaves, and D’ Angelo Russel have to come through when they are needed to shut down Denver’s seamless pick-and-roll onslaught. Can the Lakers actually get past the first round and defeat the Nuggets?
