Sunday saw LeBron James and the Lakers welcoming Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers for an interesting match. In what was a head-to-head match, for some time, LeBron James scored 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. At 39, he is one of the most thrilling players in the league, making fantastic game-time highlights.

But considering he’s a “King” just on-court would be an immature comment. He probably is the “King” off it too. After the match, LeBron proclaimed to the world that the Clippers‘ team doesn’t belong to James Harden. It is rather Ty Lue’s team. This is what he said: “They look great. You said the James Harden Clippers? Nah, it’s the T. Lue Clippers. It don’t take T. Lue long to get it right. It took 5 games, and they been cookin’ since.”

What might feel to some as James throwing some shade at his HC, Darvin Ham probably comes from a place of pure appreciation for his former coach, i.e. Ty Lue, who helped him win a championship in Cleveland. Despite tonight’s loss, the Clippers do deserve that since they’ve been an almost unstoppable team throughout the season. And losing tonight does not reduce any points from this fact.

The Clippers struggled a bit after James Harden joined them, with constant losses. However, in the past month or so, they’ve gone from 0-5 to 19-7. Of course, everyone’s beloved King James won’t shy away from praising the team and the coach for the same. He rightly states that the command of the team, the rhythm, and their on-court virtue do not just belong to James Harden or Kawhi Leonard or other players, it belongs to Ty Lue for giving them that direction.

James’ praise comes after a hard-fought victory against the Clippers, something the Lakers desperately needed.

Clippers vs Lakers – How did the Clippers lose tonight?

The Los Angeles Lakers were in dominant form tonight, but so were their competition – the Clippers. After being predicted to win tonight, the Lakers ended up taking that spot, making today their biggest victory in quite some time. From coaching to their teamwork, their acumen, and gameplay, everything contributed to the Lakers winning tonight.

They were cohesive on the court, rightly defensive and offensive in the places where they needed to be, and made consistent points and moved around the court to get a higher percentage to their total. They had 19 turnovers tonight but did not give up when it came to being defensive. The purple and gold were pretty high-paced in their offense against the Clippers. This is what probably went wrong. The Clippers did not expect it, considering the Lakers were constantly on the losing side for quite some time.

The Lakers could restrain the Clippers, tonight – almost all of their star players. To make matters worse, Ty Lue benched Kawhi Leonard due to “minute restrictions” in the clutch. James Harden (15 points), Paul Geoge ( 22 points), and Russel Westbrook ( 7 points) were not close enough to the level they set in December.

And LeBron James seemed to be back tonight in his actual form with 50.0% shooting. He single-handedly had 25 points to his tally, benefiting the Lakers to grab a massive win against their rivals, the Clippers.
