The US team has suffered a major blow in the FIBA World Cup. After getting knocked out by Germany in the semi-finals, they will now run for a bronze medal race against Canada. This loss has generated a lot of disappointment since it was an embarrassing defeat. They lost the game by a margin of only two points. 

However, fans have now diverted and have prompted a scenario, the possibility of all the NBA A-listers representing the US national team for a gold win next year. Adding fuel to the possibility LeBron James has hinted at a possibility with a tease. 

LeBron comments on the A-lister “Imagine” team possibility

A recent social media post has sparked rumors of a possible reunion of some of the biggest stars in the NBA for the next FIBA World Cup. The post shows Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard, Devin Booker, and Anthony Davis donned US jerseys. The caption reads as “imagine”, leaving fans to do just that.

What’s even more exciting is that LeBron has commented with ‘👀’, a possible hint at “let’s see“. This subtle interaction has led to a flurry of speculation and excitement among fans. Could they be witnessing the formation of a new dream team?

Fans are excited at the prospect of another ‘dream team’

The fan reactions to this possibility have been overwhelmingly positive. One fan meant it would be possible for Steph and KD to also join in the same reaction, he wrote, “Steph, KD. Y’all next 👀”, The excitement is palpable “LeBron, KD, and Steph. Get it going”. James, Durant, and Curry have played together for Team USA in the past. In the 2012 Olympics, the trio helped Team USA win gold, and they were all named to the All-Tournament Team. One fan was reminded of that season and he wrote, “Reminds me of the 2012 team USA”. 

In the 2016 Olympics, the trio repeated as gold medalists. Seeing many newcomers with the veterans, one fan wrote, “Take Kawhi outta there. He gone be on load management”.
