“Lock Him Up”: Dillon Brooks Plots Turning LeBron James’ Old Age Against Him

Dillon Brooks may have had many opponents over the years, but his biggest rival has been LeBron James since the last NBA Season. While the two have played against each other in several instances in the past, the beef only has commenced once again just days before the two face off against each other for the first time this season. And just like last season, Brooks didn’t mind publicly challenging LeBron.

Dillon Brooks’ open challenge for LeBron James

Ahead of the Rockets’ road game at the Lakers, Brooks didn’t shy away from disclosing his game plan for facing LeBron. The 27-year-old Shooting Forward said, “Lock him up”.

Brooks also revealed that making the oldest active NBA Star “tired” was a part of his strategy. “Make him get into that 4th quarter early”, Dillon ended by saying. With the NBA taking a break on Wednesday deeming to be Election day, LeBron has another 24 hours to prepare for facing the Rockets star.

Similar to last season, the Rockets star isn’t fazed by LeBron James despite tasting the defeat last season. But with the new roster and franchise this season, is Brooks really a concern for James on Thursday?

How well does LeBron do against Brooks?

Though the NBA’s most heated rivalry took birth last year, the two men faced each other for the first time in 2017  while James still represented the Cavaliers. The then 32-year-old led the Cleveland squad to a 116-111 triumph and scoring 34 points. 7 years later, LeBron James averages 25 points against Dillon Brooks while having 8.4 rebounds.

In 17 games played between the arch-rivals, LeBron has leverage over the new Rockets star. The Lakers star has won 13 times compared to Brooks’ 4 victories. But with Dillon starting a new chapter in Houston, perhaps James could be set to face a new challenge.

With the 38-year-old showing no sign of slowing down, the Rockets’ trip to the Lakers will undoubtedly force the fans to tune up to their TV Screens. Who are you rooting for?
