Rumors about LeBron James and Anthony Davis being on the trading block have caused a whirlpool recently, fueled by the Lakers’ struggles. Fans and media alike have been calling for the LA team to shake up its roster. Could it really happen, though? Well, the events at the Lakers’ practices suggest friction. Regardless, don’t be surprised if teams from the West start making their best pitches for the King or AD!

JJ Redick was asked about the practice on Tuesday. He was questioned if they had a ‘real practice’ today. Interesting choice of words, one would say. To which the 40-year-old coach replied, “Yeah. With not a lot of bodies, but we got after it. LeBron and AD didn’t practice with the group. Today they had a very spirited individual workout with Greg St. Jean where they moved around a lot and got some weight room and some training room stuff. They will… plan is for them to practice tomorrow.”

Honestly, it looks like the Lakers stars aren’t going anywhere. A trade involving either superstar isn’t happening. According to team and league sources, Rob Pelinka and Co. aren’t considering moving LeBron or AD at this point.

Even with some tough losses, the LA team isn’t looking to sell ahead of the trade deadline. In fact, as reported by Jovan Buha of The Athletic, LeBron and Davis are the Lakers’ only “untouchables” right now!

So, despite all the speculation, the duo is sticking around for the foreseeable future. Coach Redick further clarified that tomorrow they’ll have another practice where AD and Bron will be involved. So if the big names aren’t going to be traded, then who is going to leave to get them the support they need?

Who will come to the rescue of LeBron James, AD, and the Lakers?

Right now, the Lakers aren’t eyeing any big blockbuster trades, at least not according to NBA insider Jovan Buha. He pointed out that Washington Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas is getting the most buzz, but he’s not alone on the Lakers’ radar. Players like Kyle Kuzma, Jerami Grant, and Walker Kessler are also still in the mix.

Instead of chasing a headline grabber, the Lakers are looking to add depth, especially in their frontcourt and defensive perimeter. As Buha put it, they’re NOT expected to go after big names like Jimmy Butler, Brandon Ingram, or Zach LaVine.

It’s all about improving the roster in smaller, smarter ways.

Remember how Pelinka made a similar move last season? He didn’t go for one massive trade; instead, he reshuffled the roster, which helped the Lakers reach the Western Conference Finals. But with LeBron and AD aging, the pressure’s on, big time. Can they win another championship with this core?

Jovan Buha also shouted out some potential additions like Robert Williams, Collin Sexton, and Bruce Brown Jr. But honestly, even with those upgrades, can we really trust this team to make a deep playoff run? We’ve seen different versions of the Lakers fall short since their 2020 Finals win. How many roster tweaks really move the needle in LA? Drop your thoughts below.
