Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic sent his fans into a worrisome state after developing a hamstring injury during his team’s recent clash against the Golden State Warriors. With the Mavericks currently placed as the 8th seed on the Western Conference points table, they need to secure wins during the upcoming games to qualify for the playoffs and avoid the play-in series. Therefore, this is not a good time to bring Doncic’s availability into question. Fortunately, a recent update will help to soothe the minds of a couple of anxious fans.

‘NBA Front Office’ podcast hosts Keith Smith and Trevor Lane recently released a new episode of their show. During the same, the podcasters decided to kick off their update about Luka Doncic with some “great news”. Trevor Lane further said, “Luka’s ‘hamstring clean’, he’s going to be re-evaluated soon, sounds like he is not going to be out for a long amount of time. It sounds like he avoided any kind of serious injury”.

As Lane expressed his relief over the same, Smith highlighted that this update is good news for the Mavericks, who are currently “in the middle of a fight for seeding and maybe a top six spot in the playoffs”. Smith also noted, “Having him (Doncic) out there, that’s huge for the Mavericks. They’re playing the Nuggets, which should be a fun game. So hopefully, Luka is able to go.”

The Denver Nuggets, led by the Serbian player Nikola Jokic, are currently placed as the 2 seed on the points chart. Given that both Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic are the top contenders for the MVP title this season, the faceoff between the two Titans is expected to be an eventful one. While a loss for the Nuggets may not do much harm to them, it will definitely go a long way in the Mavericks’ chances to reach the playoff.
