Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic had a complete joy ride on Tuesday night. He started off the day by meeting the star of his favorite sports team, followed by a crucial win against the Houston Rockets. However, a particular moment from the victory stood out of the lot. Doncic dropped 39 points with 9 rebounds and 9 assists to lead his team to a comfortable 121-115 victory over the Rockets. However, in the context of In-season Tournament, Mavs’ win didn’t have any effect on their chance at the trophy, but they ruined the Rockets’ hopes. Despite all the highlights of the contest, one particular moment in the 4th quarter recreated an iconic NBA memory from 1992.

The Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan has created moments on the court. Above all, Jordan wasn’t very animated when it came to celebrations after scoring buckets, but when he did, they became iconic. One of them was the iconic shrug from the 1992 Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers.

MJ dominated the game, scoring 35 points in the first half with 6 three-pointers. When he dropped the last 3-point, he looked back at Magic Johnson, who was broadcasting the game and created the iconic shrug. Thirty years later, Luka Doncic gave a call back to 1992.

With over a minute left in the game, the Mavs were 5 points ahead of the Rockets and Luka did all he could to swell the lead up to 7 points. After a struggle to get the ball near the paint, he dropped a bucket with the iconic skyhook. Following that, he ran back to his defense position, recreating the iconic MJ shrug.
