Mrs. Chef Curry emotionally welcomed her new privilege before her fourth baby. The NBA world went haywire when the Curry couple announced another pregnancy. However, before embracing that wholesome moment, Ayesha Curry received an “ultimate honor” through her friend, Lindsay Lohan. The star singer and actress isn’t just a friend, but also the godmother to Curry’s three children. While the question of making Lohan the godmother of their fourth child, arose, Ayesha kept her in the dark. But in return, the Mean Girls star surprised her with great honor.
The duo’s friendship began late in 2022 and it didn’t take long for it to blossom into something special. Lohan even asked Ayesha to be the godmother of her son Luai. In an interview with USA Today, Ayesha emotionally opened up and considered her friend’s gesture as an “Ultimate honor”. She said, “For me, a godparent is a person that will shepherd the child spiritually and in beliefs and things like that… So for somebody to task me with being the person to do that, it makes me want to cry.”
Ironically, Ayesha’s emotive response came 11 days after she left her friend hanging on a radio show. Appearing on Radio Andy to promote their latest film Irish Wish, Andy Cohen, the show’s host, asked a tricky question to put Ayesha Curry on the spot. Knowing that Lohan was the godmother of Ayesha’s three kids, he asked if she would be the godmother of the upcoming baby.

In response, Ayesha evaded the question, citing a family tradition. She said, “For us, we typically wait until after the baby is born.” Lohan took Curry’s response on a lighter note and surprised her with an honorable gesture herself.
Interestingly, her husband Stephen Curry also has a similar privilege. Being the godfather of Luai.
How did Stephen Curry embrace his godfather role?
While Steph already has the honor of being the godbrother of Stanford star Cameron Brink, he welcomed his new role with a lot of joy. Ayesha Curry revealed that the 4x NBA Champion sent an autographed jersey to his godson, Luai, with a special message. It read, “Your godparents love you!” Moreover, he also maintains a friendly bond with Lindsay Lohan and her husband.
