With the mounting pressure as the season is finally heating up, fans are constantly checking up on their favorite players and one of the most anticipated ones was the uncertainty regarding the Mavericks’ guard, Kyrie Irving, who suffered a foot injury. Good news for the fans, it has been confirmed by The Athletic‘s Shams Charania through a post on X that Kyrie will be playing tonight against the Nuggets. Kyrie missed two regular season games so far due to a left foot sprain that left fans uncertain about his return. But it looks like he is up and ready to hit the court again with the team.
After two-game absence, Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving (foot) will return tonight vs. Denver Nuggets for In-Season Tournament opener, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Mavs are off to 4-0 start to the season.

Kyrie also had a groin injury during the preseason that made him miss two preseason games. Apart from Kryie, Mavericks’ forward Maxi Kleber will miss the game due to a toe injury that he sustained during Wednesday’s game against the Bulls. Despite having Kyrie back on the team, the Mavericks will be heading off to the game without a very important team component, Head Coach Jason Kidd.

Coach Kidd staying home from an illness

It has been reported by the Dallas Morning News‘ Brad Townsend that Coach Kidd is dealing with a non-COVID illness, which will require him to stay home for the time being. In the meantime, Assistant Coach Sean Sweeney will take over temporarily and lead the team into the pregame shootarounds and warm-ups.
