The Miami Heat are coming off a run to the NBA Finals, where they fell short to the Denver Nuggets in five games. The Heat, led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, defied expectations and proved their resilience and toughness in the post-season. However, not everything is rosy for the Heat for the new season. The heat didn’t get Damian Lillard after anticipating it for the entire summer.

NBA analyst Bill Simmons still strongly believes in the ‘heat culture’ of defying the odds. Part of that admiration goes to head coach Erik Spoelstra, who he considers the best in the league.

Not getting Dame might have played in the Heat’s favour

The Heat has been on the cusp of greatness in recent years. As Bill Simmons pointed out, they nearly made three of the last four Finals. At the heart of the Heat’s ambitions is the dynamic duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. This pairing remains a cornerstone of the team’s success.

The heat has the “chip-on-the-shoulder” mentality, thriving on being underestimated. They are going to be such a tight group and chemistry wins. That is why Doc Rivers while speaking on the podcast, says that the situation “May have played in their favor”.

The Heat has a chance to make another deep playoff run again. Despite failing to land superstar Dame.

Tyler Herro could be the puzzle that fits the Heat situation

The Heat has a thin point guard rotation and Kyle Lowry has been the only reliable option so far. However, Lowry is playing at 37 YO and had a disappointing last season where he only averaged 11.2 points per game.

The 23 YO shooting guard Tyler Herro fits the puzzle and can take Lowry’s place. After a long uncertain summer, Herro plays for the Heat for at least one more summer. Tyler’s name was linked as a potential bait for Dame’s trade in Miami that, according to Simmons, might have “pissed off” Tyler. As the heat is looking to revamp the scoring load, Tyler becomes Spoelstra’s obvious choice and Tyler himself would be eager to prove himself again.

The Heat face stiff competition in the Eastern Conference, as several teams have improved their level of play. The singled-out first threat is the Milwaukee Bucks. Lillard is a game-changer for the Bucks, who already have Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton as All-Stars.
