Following a tough start to the 2023-24 season, the Memphis Grizzlies have found a second wind. Ja Morant’s return has had a huge impact on the Grizzlies fortune. Since Ja’s return, the Grizzlies have won all four of their games, with Morant playing a starring role. However, the Grizzlies lost their last game to the Denver Nuggets. It isn’t a coincidence that Memphis lost because Morant missed the game due to illness.

They face the Los Angeles Clippers in their next match. But, the availability of star player Ja Morant, remains a source of concern for the Grizzlies’ fanbase.

Morant questionable for tonight’s game
The game between the Clippers and the Grizzlies is scheduled to tip off by 10:30 PM, Eastern Time at the Crypto.com Center in Los Angeles. Memphis faces an in-form Clippers’ side, who have won 8 of their last ten games. The Grizzlies are also in fine form, as they have won 4 of their last five matchups. However, in a sucker blow for the Grizzlies, Ja Morant remains questionable for tonight’s game. His absence in the previous match against the Nuggets, due to illness, resulted in a defeat for the Grizzlies with a scoreline of 142-105. Yesterday, Grizzlies’ head coach, Taylor Jenkins, was quizzed about Ja’s fitness for the game against the Clippers. He said, “Hopefully he’s feeling better”. But he didn’t provide a timeline for his return.

This season, the Grizzlies have been plagued by injuries. Apart from Morant, Memphis will also miss the services of Brandon Clarke (Achilles), Derrick Rose (hamstring) and Luke Kennard (knee) for tonight’s game. Their starting center, Steven Adams, remains sidelined for the entire season due to a knee injury.

The Clippers also have some injury problems of their own. The Clippers have listed Kawhi Leonard as questionable for the game against Memphis. However, Kawhi has missed three consecutive games due to the hip contusion he suffered against the Mavs. Despite the absence of Kawhi, the Clippers go into the game as massive favorites.

Predicted Lineups: Clippers vs Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies are looking to secure their fifth victory in the last six matches, building on their momentum since Ja Morant’s return to action. However, the odds are stacked against them for their matchup against the Clippers. From now onwards, the Grizzlies must accumulate wins on a consistent basis if they hold ambitions of a playoff spot. They could start the game with Marcus Smart, Desmond Bane, Vince Williams Jr., Jaren Jackson Jr. and Bismack Biyombo.
Given the talent that they possess, the Clippers could make a light work of the Grizzlies. However, it is never that easy in the NBA. The Clippers would look to cement their claim on a guaranteed playoff spot with a victory against the Grizzlies. They could begin the game with James Harden, Terence Mann, Paul George, Amir Coffey and Ivica Zubac.
