Stephen and Ayesha Curry are one of the most adored couples in the NBA world. They often surprise their fans with wholesome content via interviews and social media posts. In one such interview, Ayesha gave insights into cooking as her passion, her restaurant, and how her husband isn’t allowed inside the kitchen at their home.

It’s perhaps for this very reason the Golden State Warriors superstar calls Ayesha, “The real Chef Curry”.

Ayesha Curry can cook

2022 saw a widespread controversy surrounding the Bostin-area bar “Game On!” taking shots at Ayesha saying “Ayesha Curry Can’t Cook“. The viral controversy was put to sleep with her beloved husband stepping in, wearing the “Ayesha Curry Can Cook” t-shirt. Ayesha who’s successfully running her chain of restaurants is also a cookbook author, actress, model, and TV personality. It speaks volumes about her credibility when people slam her for “not cooking”. In fact, she has a very simple trick for people who think they cannot cook.

This was during her interview with Neessa, who speaks about her inability to cook. And just then, the proud mama of three jumps in, boosting the host’s morale, saying “Yes, you can cook. See that’s the one thing, anybody can cook. You just need a few simple tips, and you can… And, I got you“.

Her first tip for absolute beginners like Neessa includes owning a good, sharp chef’s knife. Owning a chef’s knife can really solve most cutting and chopping troubles in the kitchen. The second is owning a baking tray. Ayesha stresses the importance of having a baking tray to lead a healthier lifestyle. And lastly, owning cast-iron cookware offers you significant value. She says that people are scared to own a cast-iron pan, but they don’t realize that it gets better with time. She suggests people can cook a good steak or even mushrooms in the pan if they’re vegetarians/vegans.

Neessa then asks her how long would it take for an absolute beginner to actually learn how to cook. Surprisingly enough, Ayesha says “In thirty minutes. I got you!”. Considering her amazing tips, one might wonder if Stephen would also be a great chef or at least an amateur at home. But this isn’t true. Stephen Curry may be The Chef but he’s barred from entering the kitchen at home.

Chef Curry bans spouse’ entry into their kitchen

Yes, you read that right! NBA’s chef Curry is banned from entering his own kitchen. And, behind the ban is Curry’s spouse, Ayesha Curry. While promoting her new cooking show, Family Food Fight on Access Hollywood, she was asked, “Does he [Stephen Curry] cook at home?” In response, she hilariously replied that Steph isn’t great when it comes to cooking in the kitchen, unlike the NBA. And that perhaps explains Curry’s no entry into the kitchen. Ayesha also revealed that Steph is not allowed inside the kitchen, as the Baby-faced Assassin can only cook a five-ingredient pasta. “But at least he tries”, she emphasizes.

All of this comes directly from the 2019 interview when Ayesha sat down with Neessa Diab promoting her upscale woodfire barbeque restaurant chain in San Francisco and Las Vegas, called International Smoke. The restaurant is perfect for vegans who are tired of having quinoa everywhere they go. International Smoke offers an elaborate 10-course vegan menu for people to relish.
