From starting the season with a 5-4 record, the Milwaukee Bucks have since picked up pace and climbed to the number one spot in the Central Division with a 24-10 record. Despite their impressive stats, they fall short in squaring up against the Pacers who are right behind them in second place in the division. It is evident from their four losses in the five games they have played against Indiana so far in the season.

This includes the 128-119 loss during the In-Season Tournament’s semifinal game. Just this week, the Bucks suffered two back-to-back losses at the hands of the Pacers; a 122-113 loss on Monday at home and again on Wednesday in Indiana (142-130). Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been on the losing side, shares a hilarious antidote that will get them back on track.

Giannis is quite the thinker

Despite the consistent losses, Giannis hasn’t lost spirit and instead shares a mantra that will help make the team better. “You think about it. When you go back home and you sleep and you wake up, you think about it. When you go back and work out, you think about it,” the Greek Freak says. Taking it a step further, he adds, “You know, when you’re about to get freaky at night, you think about it. But at the end of the day, it’s good because now it gives us time to fix things.”

Giannis finished Monday’s game with 30 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 assists, leading the Bucks’ charts. Wednesday was the same when he dropped 26 points, and contributed 11 rebounds, and eight assists. This wasn’t enough to match up to the Pacers and their star Tyrese Haliburton, who seems to be in his best form. The 23-year-old guard dished out 31 points, two rebounds, and 12 assists on Wednesday. To be fair, we still haven’t seen the peak Bucks form yet, and that’s not to say they are not finding a beat of their own.

The Bucks need to get it together

Just before the season kicked off, Damian Lillard was traded in a 3-team deal with the Suns. Fans were over the roof and the Giannis-Dame duo even earned a nickname: ‘Freak Time.’ But naturally, chemistry doesn’t build overnight and the formidable pair are hardly warming up to their PnR sets. Once they get to make this work, they will be a true offensive powerhouse.

The entire team has simply relied on talent and hustle to win their games so far. Even though they still need to straighten out a few things, they are developing a genuine team chemistry and growing as a unit. And this could potentially be the final piece of the puzzle to propel them higher in the ranks later in the season.
