The NBA Regular season is moving forward like a finely tuned clockwork, with each team vying for a chance to either earn their first championship ring or add another one to their already existing collection. Four months have elapsed since the tournament’s commencement, and the Minnesota Timberwolves seem to be leading the points table for the Western Conference Division. The fact that the team may have a chance to secure their first ever championship has excited fans and NBA enthusiasts, with former Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez leading the charge.

Amid the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Milwaukee Bucks, ESPN chose to interview the 48-year-old Rodriguez, who is currently a co-owner of the Timberwolves. When asked about the “challenges of sustainability” over having a team that is currently ranked in the first seed on the Western Conference Table, A-Rod replied that the things that he wants to focus on going forward were “continuity and stability”. The former player patted his back by stating that he has managed to do that with Timberwolves president Tim Connelly, coach Chris Finch, and player Mike Conley Jr.

“It’s very young and they have been together for four to five years,” said Rodriguez in response to the question.

The ESPN host highlighted that four of the current Timberwolves players took less money to play for the team than what the current market value would have offered them. When asked about how he manages to make the players stay despite not having reportedly received an appealing contract, Rodriguez stated that the players thrive because of the environment they live in.

“They are hungry and thirsty for a championship,” said Rodriguez.

Alex Rodriguez further proceeded to praise Anthony Edwards’ latest “Hey, I’m here for the long haul” claim by stating that it is something that “every fan in Minnesota wants to hear”.

“He’s a guy that wants to be here” A-Rod added to the conversation. “He extended for five years, that was a really, really big deal.”

Karl Anthony Towns called Anthony Edwards the “Face of the NBA”

Before concluding his talk, Alex Rodriguez didn’t hesitate in stating that Edwards, just like former Timberwolves player Kevin Garnett, has the potential to become the next face of the NBA. Surprisingly, this was not the first time this week that someone chose to bestow this honour on the NBA player.

A few hours ago, Edwards’ teammate Karl-Anthony Towns appeared for a lively discussion with Stephen A Smith on ‘First Take’. He took the opportunity to compliment the 2x NBA All-Star and state why he deserves to be the next face of the NBA.

“When he’s playing the game he’s playing right now, I think he’s one of the top players in the NBA,” said Anthony-Towns. “You mix that in with the charisma and the personality he has, he’s a huge boost for our locker room as well. Anthony Edwards is special. … He hates when I say it, but he’s going to be the face of the NBA sooner than later.”
