Oakland natives have been going through a rough time with the changes made to Oakland Athletics. The iconic MLB team has gone through a name change, now being called the Athletics. This came as a result of the ownership change the team went under. With a major move to Las Vegas in 2028 on the horizon, Stephen Curry has come out with some heavy words. Taking the time to talk about his favorite MLB team and their turmoil, he had some heavy words to say.
Curry said, “I think overall, it’s it’s a sad situation because, you know, sports franchises in any city are to to borrow a line from a good friend of mine, it’s a sense of hope and inspiration for a community.” He went on to detail why Oakland meant so much to him over the past 10 years. He also touched on the massive void losing the Oakland Athletics will have.“You know, specifically just because of how how much, you know, history is around, you know, sports and that fandom and that sense of pride of being from Oakland.”
