For instance, in the NBA, head coach Monty Williams signed a lucrative deal with the Detroit Pistons. Williams signed during the summer for a whopping $78.5 million for six years, making him the highest-earning coach in the NBA. However, if we zoom out and compare this with other coaches, Monty could have a contender. And the contender in question is NFL coach, Bill Belichick.

NFL’s Bill Belichick is earning more than NBA’s Monty Williams

When it comes to Monty’s contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski sums it up with, “It?s the largest coaching deal in NBA history.“?But Bill Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots in the NFL, is set to exceed that number.

With years of experience under his belt, Bill is stepping into the 24th season as head coach of the Patriots with an extended multiyear contract.

Following this deal, Bill is set to earn $20 million annually, while the NBA’s highest-earning coach will be pocketing $13.5 million annually.

This clearly means that Bill is getting paid more than Monty Williams, whose mouth-watering contract has now been overshadowed when compared to the NFL’s veteran coach.

The three-time AP Coach of the Year is kicking off his 24th year with the Patriots with this monumental deal. In NFL playoff history, Bill is also the coach with the highest number of wins. As a seasoned coach, Bill has never failed to display his coaching prowess by leading the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles.

The Pistons’ Monty Williams, on the other hand, was fired by the Phoenix Suns as head coach earlier this year. However, he wasn’t going to be unemployed for long because almost immediately; the Pistons acquired him. The 2022 NBA Coach of the Year will now earn more than the average player in the NBA. How crazy is that?
