Mother of 3, Ayesha Curry Confessed “Loneliness” During First Pregnancy while Stephen Curry Kicked Off His NBA Career: “We Had Just Gotten Married…”

Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry are the NBA’s favorite couple. The pair effortlessly juggles their roles as parents to their three beautiful children. Their love story is undoubtedly one of the most heartwarming tales out there. With over a decade of marriage, Stephen and Ayesha’s journey commenced when they first crossed paths at church as teenagers. In 2008, life conspired to bring them back together during Stephen’s trip for the ESPYs. It was after that the couple recognized the deeper bond forming between them, evolving from their camaraderie. Taking their romantic connection to a new lifelong journey, Stephen and Ayesha exchanged vows on July 30, 2011. 

Steph and Ayesha have been benevolent about their relationship since the beginning. Their bond and journey have not only helped people witness their love story but have also helped strengthen their bonds. Despite their other-worldly bond, the duo has faced their battles. In a recent podcast, Ayesha opens up about a traumatic time during her initial childbearing experience.

Similar to how fearless Steph is on the court, Ayesha is in her life. From time to time, Ayesha has boldly chosen to spread awareness through her battles in life. In a podcast episode on Because Life, Ayesha sat with her sister-in-law Sydel Curry-Lee to discuss several delicate topics. In the early stages of their conversation, Ayesha and Sydell delved into her pregnancy experience. While recalling her recent pregnancy, she mentions common challenges like morning sickness.

Ayesha then courageously revealed a surprising aspect of her initial journey into motherhood. With unfiltered honesty, she shared, “I will say that during that pregnancy [in 2011], I did feel loneliness. We had just gotten married, and I was just moving to the Bay Area permanently.

Additionally, she acknowledged that limited time and her naturally reserved personality made the journey more difficult. The backdrop of the NBA lockout season and the subsequent isolation added to the mix. A silver lining was found in the fact that the lockout meant more time with Steph. However, the newfound togetherness was short-lived. The lockout eventually lifted, and Steph’s commitments resumed according to the NBA season’s demands.

As the conversation progressed, Ayesha candidly shared her experiences with postpartum depression. She also speaks boldly on other aspects and why delicate matters aren’t discussed as much as they should. 

Stephen Curry celebrated Riley’s birth in a unique way

Stephen Curry is a people’s person. On the other hand, despite claiming to be reserved, fans love media features by Ayesha equally. After the birth of their first child, Steph came up with a creative plan to lift the spirits of her wife. 

In light of the celebration, Curry invited his fans to partake in the couple’s joy. However, Curry added his sauce to the mix. While inviting fans to his special moment, he put forward a condition. Banishing any form of written wishes or social media updates, Curry revealed a social media contest to welcome Riley to the world. He requested fans to picturize or illustrate their ‘hellos’ to Riley. The contest was conducted through Doodle.ly’s mobile application and website. In return, Steph offered an autographed basketball to the winner, with the top 3 receiving a signed print of their artwork.
