A new cunning superstar is settling in the NBA. Quickly growing as a household favorite, the fierce Anthony Edwards oozes confidence. Brimming with self-belief and pride, he has helped the Timberwolves stage a Game 7 against the defending champions. Putting up 7 in front of a loud home crowd Ant let the fans know there will be another decider in the series. However, that concrete optimism didn’t just take form at the moment.

It was long before the Wolves went on three separate uncontested runs. Much before Edwards’ thrilling opening quarter, even before the opening tip. After losing Game 5 at Denver, Edwards told one of the staff members in the locker how the Minnesota Timberwolves will be back.

After a 44-point mutilation of the defending champions, Edwards doubled down on his words. “Hell yeah. They know. Y’all was in there. I told them, ‘I’ll see y’all motherf****** for Game 7,” were the words he told the Denver Nuggets officials after Game 5. It’s this energetic and old-school arrogance that is making the NBA world fall in love with the 22-year-old.

But are they alone? While discussing Edwards’ competitive attitude, The Athletic’s Sam Amick noticed Adam Silver’s ignorance of the wickedness of Ant.

Is Anthony Edwards getting protected by Adam Silver?

During the Rich Olsen Show, the Athletic’s senior writer Sam Amick joined the show. The obvious topic of discussion was the Wolves complete demolition of the Nuggets. Reacting to the 40+ defeat, Amick claims he had an intuition that the Timberwolves would eventually awaken once again.

As they did, it also gave NBA fans another glimpse of Anthony Edwards’ unfiltered and confident personality. Interestingly, Amick noticed something. Edwards has dropped multiple f-bombs throughout his interviews. However, unlike his star comparison to Michael Jordan, he isn’t penalized nearly as much as His Airness.

“This young guy you know, he is going to break an unofficial record in league history for dropping just somewhat endearing f-bombs and not getting fined by the NBA. Because typically they frown upon that and I’m sure they still do but yeah in that quote you are referencing he confirmed the story about telling the locker room attendant you know we’ll see y’all mfers in Game 7 with a big old smile on his face,”. Amick elaborated.

Jordan at the time was the sports star on planet Earth. Millions were craving to see just a small instance of him playing live. The buzz and craze around his name helped propel the NBA into a global sport. However, David Stern didn’t have a soft heart. He repeatedly put MJ in his place for any misconduct. The six-time champion was fined for not attending an All-Star game interview and even wearing his own signature sneakers on the court.

Edwards seems exempt from such strict treatment at the hands of Silver. Yet judging from Edwards’ repetitive tendency to slip up from time to time, the commissioner might have to punish him at some point.
