The Game 4 loss left Luka Magic in mental fatigue. After two back-to-back wins to level the series, the LA Clippers stunned the Dallas Mavericks tonight with a fightback win. On the other hand, the Mavs didn’t go down easily as they almost won the game chasing down a massive deficit. Nevertheless, it wasn’t their night. Following the game, Kyrie Irving revealed Luka Doncic’s mental space.

During his interaction with the reporters, Uncle Drew dropped two cents on the star’s head space. He said, “Knowing how well he knows the Clippers, I know he wants to play well, and I know he wants to make a bigger impact than what he’s doing now even though he’s almost averaging a triple-double.” Moreover, Irving pointed out the Siberian star’s inexperience when it came down to handling playoff pressure. He added, “He’s a young kid in the playoffs going against a team that beat him twice. There’s a little bit of a mental fatigue there…”

In his six-season-long career, 25-year-old Luka Doncic has reached the playoffs four times. The deepest he has ever gone in the postseason was the Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors in 2022. They unfortunately lost it by a poor 4-1 margin. However, in this season, Doncic has an experienced partner, Kyrie Irving alongside him, who has won a championship for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

Keeping the experience factor aside, the Mavs had a historic night despite their loss. The Clippers stunned the home crowd when they rained down a 31-point lead in the first half. It required a herculean effort to chase down a mammoth lead in the playoff. And, they did so, creating an NBA record for chasing down 31-point and dropping their lead with 2:15 seconds remaining on the clock.

Speaking of the historical feat, Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said, “We knew they would make a run.” If not for the loss, Luka could have mental fatigue with the chase down.

Takeaways from the Mavs-Clippers cracker

The Clippers went without their star forward Kawhi Leonard and it was James Harden who ran the show. The veteran guard, who reduced his role in orchestrating in the regular season, took up offensive responsibilities. Currently, he leads the Clips’ offense, averaging 26 points and 7 assists. Tonight, he started off the show with 18 points in the first half and ended the game with 33 points.

Along with him, Paul George turned up his cylinders and also dropped 33 points with 8 assists and 4 steals. He did put the team in the steady track. Nevertheless, it was Kyrie Irving who almost took the game away from the visitors with Luka Doncic. Drew dropped the game-high of 40 points.

Within that herculean effort to cut down the lead, Irving had two special moments. During the second and third quarters, the wizard had a 100% FG with 13 attempts. Doncic on the other hand, produced a casual triple-double in his style 29-10-10. As the series is leveled at 2-2, who do you think will win it? Let us know in the comments below
