While Tyrese Maxey broke his back on the floor for the win, HC Nick Nurse literally injured himself. The 23-year-old dropped 46 points to force Game 6 in an intense overtime thriller. Amid this circumstance, the Philadelphia 76ers coach seemed to have injured his finger while slamming his hand in frustration. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well for the 56-year-old.

Ian Begley, an SNY reporter, took to his X handle and stated that the coach couldn’t draw plays at the end of the game as he couldn’t grip the marker. Despite that, the Sixers managed to produce a clutch win. Begley further stated that there isn’t any clarity on the severity of the injury in the post.

Nick Nurse couldn’t draw up a lot of play in the second half after the injury. Unfortunately, the team needed his attention the most tonight because of the do-or-die nature of the game. The game went down the fire in the last quarter and the Sixers blew a comfortable lead and left the NY Knicks to take the game away with a flurry of turnovers.

Nevertheless, it was Tyrese Maxey’s brilliant back-to-back three-pointers that forced the game into overtime. Even during the overtime, Jalen Brunson dropped a quick fire, 5 points again, and put the team in a tough spot. The Sixers held their nerve and produced a comfortable 112-106 win at the Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have played their last two games with a comprehensive plan to stop Joel Embiid. After he dropped 50 points on them in Game 3, the NY side appointed OG Anunoby to guard the big man. Tonight, he couldn’t score 19 points with a poor 7-19 FG. However, he managed to drop a triple-double with 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Next up, the Knicks travel back to the City of Brotherly Love for Game 6, another do-or-die for the Phillies.

While Nick Nurse stayed on the court, Chris Finch took a hard blow

The Playoff first round isn’t over yet and two coaches have already suffered injuries. Despite the stinking pain in his arm, Nick Nurse stayed on the court for the Sixers’ most important game. Fortunately, Nurse’s effort to hold his pain, paid him as the Sixers forced Game 6. The severity of the injury isn’t clear, and the report revealed that it could be either a fracture or a sprain.

With the Minnesota Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, he had a fatal blow. During Game 4 between the Phoenix Suns and Wolves, the Valley side was fighting for its life to stay alive in the postseason. At that time, Devin Booker tightly guarded Mike Conley Jr. and caused him to run straight into Finch. The coach fell on his knee and the staff carried him off the court.

Later, the report revealed that Finch had ruptured his patellar tendon. Moreover, the star coach is doubtful about returning to the team for Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets. The medical staff has advised him to have a proper post-surgery recovery before traveling. Will Nick Nurse have a similar fate? Let us know in the comments below.
