Mitchell Robinson triggered a new rivalry. Amid the Knicks‘ successful postseason, the team suffered a massive injury blow with yet another big man. Robinson struggled with ankle injuries throughout the season and made a comeback right before the playoff. However, it all went into shambles when he and Joel Embiid met with a controversial collision in Game 3, first round. As he’s on the mend again, the latest report forced him to revengefully say a few words with the uppercase section!

The injury report revealed that Robinson has a stress injury in his already surgically repaired ankle and was ruled out for 6-8 weeks. It will eventually end his playoff run. Following the update, he dropped these posts on his X handle, expressing his frustration. In one of the posts, he wrote, “This is so f****d up dawg like I don’t even know what to say right now”. Less than 20 minutes later, he then went to the extent of taking a strong stance.

“This is not over! I WILL SEEK REVENGE,” were his words following his first tweet. In Game 3, Mitchell Robinson walked to the locker room after Joel Embiid committed a flagrant foul on him. During the third quarter, when he attempted to grab a rebound, Embiid, who was already on the floor, pulled him down holding his ankle. While the refs initially ignored the play, it was deemed as flagrant upon review.

Following the game, many Knicks stars criticized the Philadelphia 76ers star for his unsportsmanlike behavior. Donte DiVincenzo called Joel Embiid out and said, “It was dirty,” during the press conference. However, the Knicks had the last laugh as they defeated the Sixers in a 4-2 series win and moved to the semi-finals.

Following the mishap, Robinson barely played his regular minutes. And after Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers in the semi-final series, the team ruled him out. Notably, Isaiah Hartenstein has taken over the roster as the primary Center and Mamadi Diakite will replace Robinson as the backup Center.

Joel Embiid was only a part of Mitchell Robinson’s vulnerable season

The 26-year-old has had one of the most frustrating seasons of his career. He started the game for the Knicks on 21 occasions in the absence of Julius Randle. Unfortunately, during the course of the season, he required immediate ankle surgery and missed the next 49 games. After surgically repairing his ankle, he made a comeback to the team, only to get ruled out again for another two months.

The Knicks have had a historic season after two decades of disappointment. They are finally strong enough to make their Championship run with the help of Jalen Brunson. The last time they reached a Conference Finals was in 2000 against the Indiana Pacers! Apart from the playoff series victory in 2013, they haven’t won a single series in the last two decades.

Amid these circumstances, Robinson missed the opportunity to be part of the celebrated Knicks side that will make Madison Square Garden come alive. Nevertheless, it has been the story of the Knicks throughout the season. They played short-handed without big men, Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, and Robinson for the majority of their regular season. They only relied on the grit and shooting prowess of JB, Josh Hart, and DiVincenzo to reach this far in the league.

Will the Knicks win their first championship in years this season? Let us know in the comments.
