LeBron James and Team USA started things quite aggressively in the Showdown at Bercy Arena. Both the squads were in each other’s faces from the very get-go, giving their all, on both ends of the floor. Devin Booker took care of the business in the first half, putting 13 points along with James’ 7. However, this one play had home fans mesmerized and the legacy Dream Team 2.0 fanatics jaw-dropped. With just 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, Guerschon Yabusele had ‘the highlight’ of his Olympics journey.

The Frenchman dunked on LeBron James, posterizing him. James was trying to draw a charge, however, as Yabusele almost held a knee on James’ shoulder for the slam. Fans on X went haywire, witnessing Bron getting posterized. And why wouldn’t they? This fan couldn’t have said it better, saying, “That was disgusting🤣 imagine the thrill for Yabusele. In front of the world, in the capital city of your homeland, dunking on the GOAT”.

This individual’s response was a comment under a certain controversial tweet that said, “Bron will have that clip deleted by Sunday morning.” Well, LeBron James has a controversial streak with the press, and tons of analysts have blatantly accused him of doctoring the Bronny James-NBA media coverage. That being said, it is definitely a story for another day. Coming back to the Olympics, well, even though Team USA took control, this highlight was definitely worth watching.

Yabusele has been France’s key player in the Olympics this year, leading the team alongside Cordinier. The two were phenomenal in the tough games against Canada and Germany. And as aggressive as both of them were in the Finals, Team USA just wouldn’t stop sinking buckets on them. Unfortunately, the hype of this poster dunk was short-lived, but worth it for Yabusele, who will remember this for the rest of his life.

The Frenchman has played in the NBA, wearing the Celtics jersey for two consecutive years. In fact, Yabusele has played against the King on a big stage before. It was during the 2018 Conference Finals when LeBron James-led Cavaliers took on the Celtics and it went up till game 7! Since then, Yabusele has improved most of his attributes, becoming a better role player and rebounder. If he ever looks to make a comeback to the league, this highlight of his, along with his performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics, will be the way to it.

NBA faithful have “seen enough” as LeBron James unexpectedly getting posterized, hits the ground!

While Team USA winning Gold with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry on the same teamsheet was the picture of this tournament, looking back at the highlights, the Frenchman’s statement dunk on Bron will never be forgotten. Quite a lot of the fans termed this moment as an embarrassing one for the King. This Twitterati took everyone 5x steps further, questioning, “Oh Lord…Oh sh*t! Damn Bron, you ready to retire now?…(continues chuckling)”.

LeBron is 39, in the Olympics, and also the new MVP. Yes, the veteran is aging like fine wine and his dominance continues.

This particular fan posted an amazing click of the poster as LeBron James can be seen hitting the floor hard. Captioned, “This is EPIC”, Yabusele and the French fans can look to making this his phone’s home screen wallpaper. The Laker seemed pretty confident as he tried to draw a charging foul, but the referee completely refused.

Various other fans were completely in shock after this poster moment, sharing clips of it on X. Yabusele finished the game with 20 points, doing the most on the offensive end. Watching these Frenchmen takeover, one of the fans wanted to see these guys finally play in the NBA. “Get Cordinier, Yabusele, and Lessort in the NBA. I’ve seen enough,” wrote the fan.

Now, for the most part, quite a lot of these Frenchmen deserve a spot in the league. Like Yabusele, Cordinier is also a great backup scorer for teams looking to add more depth to their lineup. Whereas for front offices who are looking to add a stronger presence in the paint, they have to look no further than Yabusele! Both of these players have great potential to play on a contender-worthy team.

As the regular season tips off a little over two months from now, teams will start to scout international talent. We’ve seen players from South Sudan make noise as well as guys from Serbia. However, it is up to the front offices to consider them as serious candidates.

What are your thoughts on Yabusele’s poster on LeBron? Do you think he should make his return to the league? Let us know in the comments.
