The Saturday night game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder went down the wire for a drama. The OKC had a touch-and-go game until Anthony Edwards gave away the win, after failing miserably at the free-throw line. Following that embarrassment, fans took to social media comments, trashing the 22-year-old and his earlier comparisons with the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

During the 2023 offseason, fans compared Ant Man with Air Jordan for their similar movement on the court. Moreover, some fans even jokingly called Edwards as MJ’s son. While he lived up to the hype for all these days, tonight, he gave it all away with a blunder at the FT line.

Trailing by 3 points behind the OKC in the final six seconds of the game, Anthony Edwards extracted a foul with three free throws. While the NBA world expected the rising superstar to tie the game up with ease, he missed all free throws, eventually giving away the hard-game battle to the OKC for a 102-97 loss.

Following the game, fans swarmed social media, attacking the star for missing the FTs, and regretted comparing him to MJ.

One user said, “Lmao!!! Never y’all compare Anthony Edwards to Michael Jeffrey Jordan or Kobe Bryant EVER AGAIN. Missing 3 clutch free throws to tie the game and go overtime. Could never be my GOATS.” Here are some more reactions from fans.

Another X user said that Jimmy Butler would’ve made that shot.

A fan, who identifies himself with the name David Benjamin on X, wrote, “They say that Anthony Edwards is Jordan’s son… and I love the player, but he definitely didn’t get the clutch gene. Just missed three game tying free throws.”

It may seem like the fans have written off the rising superstar very soon, but the Ant Man can make it up to it in the coming games with his athleticism and clutch moves.

Speaking of his athleticism the day before yesterday, he left the NBA world stunned with his special move near the paint.

Ant Man pulls off a stunner against the Grizzlies

One may expect the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies to never stand a chance against the Wolves. But it was the other way around. The Grizzlies had a decent lead until Edwards helped the team bounce back, late in the game for a 118-103 win.

Especially in that process, Edwards pulled off an amazing move against four Grizzlies defenders. When he struggled to find a spot to shoot the ball, he intentionally hit the ball against the board, and rebounded it with a put-back dunk.
