Following the blockbuster James Harden trade, the LA Clippers had a tough time finding their footing. They went on a six-game losing streak after the trade. When the NBA world wrote off the team, it was just a matter of a few games until the Clippers turned up the cylinders to become one of the most lethal teams of the season.

Even before the Harden trade, the Clippers looked lethal with three star players: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook. And the Beard’s addition made the team indestructible on paper. It all came crashing down when the Clippers were all over the place losing six games in a row. But it didn’t last long, as Tyronn Lue pulled the right strings, formed perfect line-ups, and turned the tables around.

The Clippers HC Tyronn Lue didn’t let the team completely sink into the deep water. He took the tough call to bench Russell Westbrook and rotate him with James Harden. This minor change in the line-up proved to be a big fortune for the side, to an extent where they had a 9-game winning streak.

Currently, they are in the fourth seed of the Western Conference with a 25-13 record after defeating the shorthanded Grizzlies for a 128-119 win. Paul George led the team with 37 points, dropping 7 three-pointers, and the main man James Harden dropped 11 points with 9 assists.

Following the game, PG picked up the mic and opened up about the Clippers’ shaky start. He said, “Despite the rocky start, we have been smooth sailing since then… whether we were going through that time to now, we never lost sight of how fun it’s been and how much we appreciate the process… feels good winning.”

Almost reaching midway through the season, the Clippers stand as the favorites for many in the NBA world.

Ty Lue illuminated confidence amid slump

He said, “It’s gonna be good, Andrew. That’s alright. We’ll be alright. They better take advantage of it now.” And, astonishingly, whatever he said came true, as they became almost unbeatable this season.
