The New York Knicks have been one of the most consistent teams of the 2023/24 season. They currently occupy the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with 32 wins from 50 games. One of the main reasons behind the Knicks’ stellar performances this season has been Jalen Brunson. The 27-year-old has performed at an elite level and his exceptional displays haven’t gone unnoticed, as he earned his first-ever All-Star spot.

Away from his professional life, Brunson also recently teased a significant development on X. He wrote, “Got something cooking up for yall pretty soon.” Many fans were taken aback by this Tweet, sparking curiosity about what Brunson might be teasing. However, it has since been revealed that Brunson and Knicks’ teammate Josh Hart are set to launch a new podcast titled “Roommates Show.” The show has already gained some mainstream traction, with even Hollywood celebrities expressing interest in tuning in to watch two stars from the Knicks.

Josh Hart hints at inviting Knicks superfan Ben Stiller

The NBA has seen a rising trend of players venturing into podcasting. Both current and former players, such as Paul George, JJ Redick, Jeff Teague, and Gilbert Arenas, have found success in the industry. Jalen Brunson and Josh Green join this growing list of active players exploring podcasting as a new avenue. If the Instagram bio is any indication, the podcast’s first episode airs on Thursday, and it looks like Hollywood star and Knicks superfan, Ben Stiller could make an appearance on the show. Stiller expressed his intention to subscribe to the podcast on X, prompting Hart to respond by saying, “You’ll be a guest soon my friend.”

Ben Stiller has been a permanent fixture on the courtside of Madison Square Garden during the Knicks games. He was born and raised in New York, hence his affiliation to the Knicks. During a 2022 interview with JJ Redick, Stiller described his admiration for the Knicks. He said, “It’s not something you choose; that’s what I think. Like, who would want this pain?”

While the Knicks have struggled throughout most of the 21st century, that is not the case anymore. In fact, they are one of the most in-form teams in the NBA, notching nine wins in their last 10 matches. With Brunson and Randle leading the team, the Knicks have become a serious threat to title favorites like the Celtics and the Bucks. The Knicks can further push on from their advantageous position by acquiring a true superstar like LeBron James in the offseason.
