Five months after the game, Schroder took the opportunity to rub salt on his new teammates. Referring to Mikal Bridges and Cam Jonhson, who represented the Team USA in the WC, Schroder said, “I hope they’re not taking it too personal”

The Team USA picked up a relatively younger side for the FIBA WC with the offense players like Anthony Edwards, Bridges, Austin Reaves, and Jalen Brunson. Even though the young side created the buzz throughout the tournament, it didn’t have enough gas to reach the Finals. Unfortunately, it couldn’t clinch the third spot as well.

On the other hand, Germany, which shattered the Team USA’s dream, went on to win the Finals. The 30-year-old Dennis Schroder played a crucial role in the team’s performance. He dropped at an average of 19.1 points per game with 6.1 assists.

Following his successful stint with the national side, he was pushed to the Toronto Raptors in a surprise trade in the off-season. Before, he had a successful season with the LA Lakers, 12.6 points per game. Apart from that, he also helped the LA side go deep in the playoffs.

Dennis Schroder’s role in the Nets

Schroder in his half season stay with the Raptors has averaged 13.7 points with 6.1 assists per game. And he received the call from the Nets after they parted ways with Spencer Dinwiddie. Notably, the guard was reportedly disgruntled with his role on the side.

Schroder might step in as the replacement guard for the Nets. The team has been suffering from anchors ever since the exit of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Now that Schroder has taken up the crucial guard role, the 30-year-old might have to stay longer with the franchise unlike his other short stays.
