None of the above-mentioned stars were named the Finals MVP. It was the unheralded contributions of Andre Iguodala that were recognized. Stephen Curry wrote a heartfelt note, as Iguodala announced his retirement from basketball.

Andre Iguodala was an essential part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty that won four NBA titles in eight years. Iguodala wasn’t a frequent starter, but he certainly played a crucial role in finishing important games on the court. He has gained a reputation for being a clutch performer. In former ESPN reporter Max Kellerman’s opinion, “Fate of the universe on the line or the Martians have the death beam pointed at earth, you better hit it. I WANT IGUODALA”. 

After enjoying a stellar NBA career spanning nineteen seasons, Iguodala announced his retirement yesterday. Former teammate and good friend Steph Curry posted a tribute to Iggy on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “You already know what it is #9! You did your thing on & off the court & I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, the Dubs, the league…you carried a bright torch! and what is to come should be the best sequel in a while. Love bro!”

Both Steph and Andre share a passion for golf, and Steph came up with a special proposition to Iggy. He wrote, “Save a tee time for me”.

Iguodala’s NBA Career

Andre Iguodala, a versatile and defensively gifted wingman, enjoyed a highly successful NBA career. Drafted ninth overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2004, Iguodala quickly made an impact with his all-around skills. He became known for his defensive prowess and ability to guard the league’s top players.
