A few days ago Draya Michele revealed that “she was struggling” possibly hinting at the criticism she has received online since she announced her pregnancy. The 39-year-old model and Green have been facing ridicule due to the 17-year age gap in her relationship. After the recent shaming by trolls online for the pregnancy reveal, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe came to the couple’s rescue with a personal confession.

In the latest episode of Nightcap, Sharpe appeared alongside former NFL star Chad Johnson and the duo decided to defend Green and Michele. 3x Super Bowl winner Shannon Sharpe read out the 39-year-old model’s latest IG post on how the recent online reactions have affected her mental health.

Sharpe was quick to jump in and defend the model. In the process, he opened up about his own life. Shannon Sharpe explained, “A lot of women that are criticizing Draya got three, four babies from three, four different dudes. And a lot of dudes that judging, they got three or four babies from three or four different baby mommas…I don’t judge ’cause I got three baby mamas.” Sharpe himself has three kids- two daughters and a son. Reportedly none of his kids share the same mother.

Sharpe didn’t stop at that, he went on to further criticize the haters. He decided to figure out the reason behind the hate that Jalen Green and his girlfriend have been receiving.

He added, “Y’all spend so much time worried about what’s going on in somebody else’s houses and y’all got the most effed up houses. I know it.” He also called out people for making it an issue despite the matter being personal to Green and Michele.”

Sharpe continued, “People are upset. What you upset about? This is two consenting adults!” Former wide receiver Chad Johnson, who was a guest on the show, agreed with Sharpe and didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts.

He said, “Imma just be honest with you now. Half of them mad but, (they are thinking) ‘Damn! I wish that was me.” Earlier Draya Michele shared an Instagram story in which she wrote, “I feel like I am at the bottom of a pile of heavy humans, Most hours of the day I feel like I am struggling to breathe,” subtly hinting at the barrage of criticism coming her way in the wake of her recent announcement. She also posted on Instagram stating “to get comfortable with being misunderstood.” 

While the former NFL players defend the couple, Green himself has proudly stood up for his relationship.

Jalen Green flaunts his love for Draya

When the fans were all over the Green-Draya issue, Jalen Green didn’t hesitate to showcase his love for his girlfriend. Recently, the Rockets star took to his IG handle and shared a picture with his younger sister on stories with an intricate detail about Draya Michele.

In the post, it was visible that Green had gotten Draya Michele’s name tattooed on his stomach. This indicates that Green isn’t hesitant to showcase his love for Michele despite the backlash online. Michele and Green were first spotted together in the summer of 2023 and had reportedly started dating before that. Now, as the couple prepares to start a new chapter, they will try to shut out the outside noise around their personal lives.
