We just witnessed a miracle at Madison Square Garden! After coming off a huge win in Philadelphia two days ago, New York fans expected the Knicks to end the Sixers’ season tonight. Moreover, Jalen Brunson’s squad was within seconds of accomplishing their goal. Then, Tyrese Maxey decided to take matters into his own hands and pulled off a miraculous comeback for the ages, even sending Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James, and the rest of the NBA World into a frenzy.

Ready to take on the streets of New York after eliminating the Sixers, the Knicks fans’ dream quickly turned into a nightmare. While trailing by six points with less than thirty seconds on the clock, Maxey hit an insane And-1 three-point shot over Mitchell Robinson to bring the game to within three. Then, after making the free throw, just ten seconds later, Maxey pulled up from the Knicks logo to tie the game at 97-97. With that, you could feel the energy dropping in the Knicks arena through your television screens.

Completely shifting the momentum, Maxey’s seven-point outburst in the final thirty seconds sent the game to overtime. And the Sixers did not look back from that point on. By outscoring the Knicks by six points in the additional minutes, the Sixers somehow clinched Game 5 with a 112-106 win, giving them a chance to tie the series in the next game.

Dropping 46 points, to potentially save the Sixers’ season, Maxey arguably played the greatest game of his young career tonight. And he did it quite efficiently, draining seven of his twelve shots from a distance. Not only that, he also dished out nine assists to make his teammates better.

NBA World reacts to Tyrese Maxey’s 46-point performance

NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes was not far behind as it took him just one word to describe Maxey’s performance, “Crazy!!!!”

Maxey’s miraculous comeback even left comedian Jon Stewart speechless and in utter disbelief. The part-time Daily Show host’s reaction was caught on camera after Maxey’s epic 3-pointer to force OT.

One fan even claimed Maxey might have saved Joel Embiid’s legacy as he was a no-show in tonight’s elimination game. Unlike most nights, Embiid had a miserable shooting performance tonight, scoring only 19 points. However, he ended up with a triple-double and more importantly, a win.

This fan simply claimed Maxey did not want to go to “Cancun” tonight and save the day for the Sixers.
