In an attempt to bolster their receiving rotation, the Cleveland Browns have roped in wideout Jerry Jeudy in a trade with the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2024 fifth- and sixth-round pick, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal won’t be official until Wednesday when free agency officially begins. However, it is safe to suggest that LeBron James is over the moon after hearing about the deal. The Los Angeles Lakers star took to Instagram to welcome Jeudy to native Cleveland and wrote in his story, “Let’s go JJ!!! DawgPoung.”

After years of being a Dallas Cowboys fan, James recently switched his allegiance to support his hometown team, the Browns. And since then, he has been right there with the fans, celebrating every win. This one was no different. After failing to bring him into the fold last season, the Browns finally added another weapon at wide receiver in Jeudy. However, there was another reason for the King to celebrate.

After a humbling 120-130 loss to the Sacramento Kings, where they blew an early 19-point lead, the Lakers bounced back with a win against the third-seeded Milwaukee Bucks. However, what is even more interesting is that they did so without James in the lineup.

During Wednesday’s loss against the Kings, James left the game with 3:56 minutes left after he aggravated his ankle injury and did not return. Consequently, he was listed as questionable for their next showdown against the Bucks but was a last-minute scratch. However, powered by a 44-point performance from D’Angelo Russell, the Lakers outplayed Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. with a close 123-122 win. With the win, the Lakers are once again back in the 9th spot in the Western Conference rankings.

LeBron James and the Lakers are expecting two key players to return soon

The Lakers have been one of the most inconsistent teams this season. Some days they look like a mess, while other days they look resemble their championship form. The only encouraging element in the midst of a streaky season for them is the potential return of two key players from injuries.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Gabe Vincent might return to the lineup at some point in mid-to-late March. Since joining the Lakers this offseason, Vincent played in only five total games before the 27-year-old had to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in December. The expectation is for him to add another dimension to the offense off the bench. However, at the very least, he will offer some depth at the point guard position.

Moreover, Jarred Vanderbilt is also expected to return soon. After suffering a foot injury against the Boston Celtics on Feb. 1, he was originally projected to miss 3–4 weeks. That means he could be very close to a comeback.
