Back in June, Ayesha Curry called her husband Stephen Curry her “coach” while the couple enjoyed some much-needed vacation time in what they dubbed “paradise.” She thanked Steph for teaching her golf and credited him for helping her improve under his guidance. But now, it seems that guidance might be coming from someone else.

Ayesha shared a couple of stories on her Instagram showing off her golf swing. In one, she wrote, “Golf lessons and champagne w @aurorajames @ericamalbon And so many other incredible women.” In another, she posted a clip of herself swinging the club, adding, “Slowly getting better!!! Great coaching from @jackierieglegolf.” And the one notable absence from these posts? Stephen Curry.
The obvious reason for Curry’s absence might be the NBA preseason schedule. He played in the first two Warriors games but is set to miss the team’s second matchup against the Lakers this Sunday. The reason? Unknown. Head coach Steve Kerr mentioned that Curry is “banged up” and is likely being rested for Tuesday’s game against the Trail Blazers in Portland.

In their last meeting with the Lakers, Steph Curry and Moses Moody were nothing short of spectacular for the Warriors. The duo combined for 33 points on 12-of-16 shooting, each contributing in just 15 minutes.
Missing a golf game? That’s not like Steph. Curry loves the game as much as he loves playing basketball; he’s a true fan. Just look at how excited he got when Tommy Fleetwood claimed his first PGA Tour win at the Tour Championship.

Curry also competed in the 2025 American Century Championship, the same event he won back in 2023, though this year he came up short. The 2023 ACC champion finished fifth with a total score of 58.
He started strong in Round 1, scoring 21 points with four birdies and five bogies, then added 14 points in Round 2 with two birdies, two bogies, and two double bogies.
Steph even has a dedicated playlist for his golf sessions with his wife, Ayesha. Back in July, he shared it on Instagram, inviting fans to add their suggestions. “Golf and good music > Let me know if I’m missing any songs! 👀” he wrote in the caption.
Ayesha quickly showed her support, reposting the playlist on her Instagram Story and adding a sweet message: “This cuuuute. Hit em straight my baby.”
So it really makes you wonder why Steph isn’t with Ayesha when he’s off the hardwood.
Marriage confession sparks chatter, but Ayesha stands beside Steph
Ayesha Curry has her own identity; she’s more than just Stephen Curry’s wife. When she was younger, she pictured a very different life for herself.
In a recent Call Her Daddy interview, she admitted, “No. So, I didn’t want kids. I didn’t want to get married. I thought I was going to be “career girl” and that’s it. I had my eyes set on my goals, and I was never the little girl that like dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that, and then it happened so early in my life.” But life, of course, had other plans.
Ayesha and Steph first crossed paths as teenagers at a youth group after her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. They lost touch but reconnected years later in Los Angeles, and by 2008, they were officially dating. Just three years into Steph’s NBA journey, they tied the knot in 2011.
Reflecting on that time, Ayesha said, “After we got married, we found out we were pregnant with our daughter so quickly, I didn’t even have time to think about what I wanted anymore.” Since then, their family has grown to four children: Riley, Ryan, Canon, and Caius.
Even as a young mom, Ayesha knew she wanted more for herself. She wanted to grow as a person on her own terms. “I love being a mom, but I love doing other things, too, and I need to get my s— together and figure out what that looks like for myself now,” she shared.
And grow she did. Beyond being Steph’s wife, she became a New York Times bestselling author, a business owner, the founder of her beauty brand Sweet July, and even runs a restaurant. Her journey hasn’t been without challenges, including social media backlash over some of her candid revelations, but Ayesha has stayed steadfast, showing resilience every step of the way.
Despite the online twist on her “marriage confession,” Ayesha had plenty of supporters rallying behind her. Through all the chatter, she’s standing strong beside Steph. The Warriors’ preseason kicked off, and Ayesha was right there to celebrate Curry’s 17th NBA season.
