A few days back, the Golden State Warriors hyped up their fans with fascinating trade moves. Several reports and videos of Dwight Howard training with the Dubs surfaced on the internet. However, the hype died down immediately, as the Dubs rejected the 6′ 10 former champion. Following the disappointment, the Dubs front office further rattled their fans with their new addition. Importantly, the new 6′ 4  addition doesn’t seem to add value to the already-short Warriors roster.

The Dubs have carried out significant changes to their roster in the off-season. While the core three players remained intact, the management played around with the rest of the team. Importantly, they traded out the promising Jordan Poole for the veteran point guard, Chris Paul. Moreover, fans felt roping in Howard would have been icing on the cake at the end, but the new shooting guard addition didn’t seem to impress them.

Days after the Warriors management rejected Dwight Howard, the team signed up free agent Rodney McGruder ahead of the season opener. McGruder previously spent three years with the Detroit Pistons, averaging close to 5.5 points in 99 games. Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania took to his X, formerly known as Twitter, and broke the news to the NBA world.

In the tweet, Charania wrote, “Free agent forward Rodney McGruder is finalizing a deal with the Golden State Warriors… McGruder will compete for a roster spot in Warriors camp.” The trade update instantly reminded the fans of Klay Thompson‘s sly dig at the former Pistons star during the 2019-20 season. Thompson was part of the commentary, as he was injured. While speaking about McGruder, he said, “This dude might be out the league soon. He’s probably mad about that.”

Furthermore, fans expressed their disappointment at the team for picking McGruder ahead of Howard.
