His comments resurfaced on Tuesday night when the Dallas Mavericks lost to Real Madrid in a preseason game.?

In the NBA pre-season games, the Dallas Mavericks have a tumultuous start. The Mavs lost the first two games against the Timberwolves in Abu Dhabi. As they looked forward to getting some rhythm going, the next showdown happened on Tuesday against a non-NBA team. It was an embarrassing loss. Fans on social media were quick to mock them for losing to ?football club?s? basketball unit.?

Luka and co got thrashed in a close thriller

Luka Doncic put out a great show playing for just five minutes and scoring all three-pointers, and 9 points. Kyrie Irving missed out on the game due to a minor groin injury. The match was a thrilling event until the last second. The Mavs trailing in the first two quarters took a 9-point lead in the third quarter. Former Mavs guard Facundo Campazzo emerged heavy on the Mavs and he scored team-high 20 points. Real Madrid won the match with a margin call of 127-124 points. Had there been another three-pointer from Luka, the consequences could have changed.?

Dallas is in a difficult position, but luckily there is an entire season to go. They tried every possible line-up in the game and the fans are calling it an embarrassing defeat. Real Madrid is not even an NBA team. So trying out all the bench players and still losing is not considered an excuse and online fans called them out for it.?

?I?watched the game and those are my considerations: Real Madrid didn’t play with intensity and without defending as they usually do in Euroleague. Dallas played for fun without a real effort. Neither team wanted to play seriously, so it’s absolutely impossible to judge who is better. I personally prefer watching Euroleague, but it’s a really stupid effort to belittle either league. If you don’t like NBA or Euroleague, just don’t watch it! However, some Americans should learn to show more respect to European basketball.??
