After taking two back-to-back losses, the Nuggets (14-8) host the Rockets (9-9) tonight at the Ball Arena hoping to turn the tides in their favor. This is the fourth time the two teams are meeting this season. While the Rockets have won two of those games, Denver has one win to their name.

The presence of PG Jamal Murray on the court tonight has been a source of uncertainty for the reigning Champions as they gear up to secure an equalizing victory. He played the Nuggets’ last game against the Clippers on Wednesday, contributing 23 points, 6 assists, and 1 block, but his name has been added to the probable list following a right ankle sprain.

Jamal Murray was initially listed as questionable for Wednesday’s losing game against the Clippers, but he suited up nonetheless. So, one shouldn’t be surprised if he sits out tonight. On the off chance that he misses, Reggie Jackson will replace him as the starting guard alongside Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Big man Nikola Jokic will take the center, while Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. will be the wings.

On the injury list, Vlatko Cancar is yet to make his 2023-24 season debut. He tore his ACL in August this year and is recovering from a reconstruction surgery. Vlatko will most likely miss the entire season. On the other hand, Murray too has had a tough season, laced with injuries.

Injured his ankle on the day of his comeback

Jamal Murray has played only nine out of the 22 games the Nuggets have played so far in the season. On the 4th of November, he tore his hamstring during the 123-101 winning game against the Bulls, and while he made a much-awaited comeback on the 29th against the Rockets, he suffered a right ankle sprain just two minutes and a few seconds into the game.

The 26-year-old guard currently holds averages of 17 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. If he misses four more games, Murray will not be eligible for end-of-season titles and honors. He sat out the entire 2021-22 season recovering from an ACL tear. He was a huge aid to Jokic in the run for their maiden championship last season.
