The Houston Rockets recently faced off against the Washington Wizards. Jalen Green led the offensive charge for the Rockets, scoring a season-high 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. While his performance was commendable enough, the main highlight occurred during the final minute of the game. While attempting to hit a three-pointer, the player sent Wizards point guard Jared Butler stumbling onto the floor. Green stared at him for a few seconds before attempting the shot and securing three additional points for his team.

The move generated reactions from all sides. Teroya Eason, the mother of Green’s teammate Tari Eason, took to her official X account to react to the same by writing. “Yall didn’t tell me he had another son! One baby girl coming and now two sons! Slow down Nick Cannon!!!” 

Eason’s comment might have been about the player reportedly having a baby with his 39-year-old girlfriend, Draya Michele. The “two sons” remark was in regards to how the 22-year-old not only sent Butler to the floor but also managed to avoid the tactics of two other defenders to secure the three pointer. The ‘sonning’ move definitely earned her respect. By comparing him to celebrity Nick Cannon, who has reportedly fathered 12 children, the mother of the Rockets power forward seems to have extended her flowers to the player while allegedly taking a dig at the comedian.

Tari Eason’s mother once had an emotional ‘tunnel’ talk with Jalen Green

The above-mentioned incident was not the first time that Tari Eason’s mother has done her part in uplifting the 22-year-old. She was a source of support for him last year during one of his most non-productive seasons.

Jalen Green had managed to secure a high average score of 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the 2022-23 season. However, the same couldn’t have been said during the initial stage of the ongoing season, when the player had only an average of 16.7 points to his name. In a tweet put out in December 2023, Teroya Eason revealed encountering the player in an arena tunnel before a game.

“I put my arms around him in the tunnel and asked him straight up. ‘How you doing? Cause I want the top and we can’t do it without you, do you know that?’” wrote Eason. “He said ‘yes ma’am’ so idgaf what y’all think! No one man has to be everything for us anymore. WE A UNIT NOW! And WE going UP!”

Whether it was the talk with Mamma Eason or not, but Green began to show signs of improvement during the second half of the season. In the last 10 games itself he has scored an average of 23.2 points.
